When it comes to vehicles, it is inevitable that a bump or scrape will occur, whether it is your fault or not. So, what happens when it comes to leasing a car that you have to hand back? Firstly, wear and tear charges do apply which might leave you out of pocket, then secondly, you will have to prove that you are up to date on maintenance, such as regular service checks. This is where 360 Autoleasing can help…
Our Free Inspection Service
Not many people know we provide a free inspection service, this is something we’d like to shout about in order to help our customers! This check will see experts inspect the interior and exteriors of the car you have leased, to ensure it is compliant with the British Vehicle Renting and Leasing Association (BVRLA) standards, something of which all leasing companies have to follow.
What happens when my lease comes to an end?
When it’s time for a leased vehicle to go back, it will be collected by a third party who is instructed by the leasing company. This person will inspect the car and report back if there are any damages, which could land you with a bill if any damage is spotted.
How long does the inspection take and when should I book in?
Usually we would advise customers to book in for their free inspection service between 3-6 months before the end of their lease, this way if any damage is spotted then there is time to rectify it – or prepare yourself for any unforeseen charges. The service only takes between 10-20 minutes, which is worth taking out of your day as it will save you money in the long run.
When leasing, the BVRLA states that customers can arrange to repair any damage caused before returning the vehicle, these repairs can be carried out to a professional standard by a reputable and credible repairer.
Does this differ to an MOT?
The service we offer is not the same as an MOT, it purely looking at the internal and external condition of your vehicle.
How do I book in?
To book your car in for a free inspection service, you should call up 3-6 months before the end of your lease. If left until the last minute you might struggle to fix any potential damage.
